Our vision is simple: to create community for teens growing up nomadically by inviting like-minded families move into the same neighbourhood, creating a temporary home base and community for young people growing up on the road. One month at the time, new locations every time, staying true to our nomadic hearts.
The first official Worldschool Village will take place in Tarragona, Spain, in October 2025.
It’s just the right size—big enough to be exciting, small enough to feel safe. Do not hesitate! Just join us.
We are facilitating community through events, walks, wisdom sharing, cultural deepdives. On top Village will include a fancy teenage party to celebrate this amazing life.
Teenagers from all over the world can come together and enjoy real community, yet staying true to their nomadic hearts.
Catalonia in October will be the beauty of early fall, the last heat of the summer, the mangos, the sunsets at the beach, the music - and for all of us it will also be the blast of Worldschool Community.
Tarragona was chosen, as we, The Conrads, who are organizing this event hosts, really like it and it hits the sweetspot between big enough to be fun, small enough to be safe, old enough to be interesting, and a few other factors, like the weather being nice in October.
We needed to just go ahead and do it, as the community creation is in high demand, not the least within our own family. So, here you go: First event of the Worldschool Village project has set sail. We, The Conrads, have booked accommodation, and an anchor point has been chosen. We are so ready.
Get your ticket here, and join us for the month-long neighbourhood of community, including wisdom sharing, weekly shared walks, a week of inviting newcomers, a fancy dance, Suit up Sundays and more.
Here is what you get
Community
The Conrads are long term community creating people, and the Worldschool Village is just that: Creation of community - by joining you have instant access to a life with likeminded, for you and your teens. Facilitation of community hosted by a long term nomadic family. We can of course not guarantee your experience to be anything specific, but we CAN guarantee options are there.
Wisdom
There are so many elements of the life of the nomadic teen, that differ. So much to talk about! The veterans will share their experience and research, paving the way for those who are newer to the community. We will talk about parenting teens, about education, finances, the future, love life, relationships. First weekend we dedicate 3 sessions of wisdom, to get the ball rolling. Over the following weeks, conversations will flow, and we will all grow.
Information
Become part of the core community. We will create a WhatsApp community which will go live at the latest September 1st. And if there is interest for it, we are also considering creating a village-site where we all can share where we stay, who we are and how to connect.
Creating Memories
Weekly Walks, SuitUp Sundays, shared excursions to art museums and historical sites (any tickets are not included in the price, nor is transportation)
Be the light
The option to invite newcommers in or to be the newcomer in the week of more intense shared experiences. We make sure to create community also for those just flirting with the idea of worldschooling.
Party-time!
Invitation to the fancy dance for teens only on Friday the 17th of October. It will be a blast.
One of the most magical things we’ve experienced during longer stays as worldschoolers is the feeling of living in walking distance of one another. We’ve tried it. It works. There’s a special kind of ease and spontaneity that comes when you can simply stroll out the door, wander toward a shared space — and bump into a familiar face.
That’s what we call the Village Square.
Not a literal square with market stalls and fountains (though we love those too), but a central meeting spot — a park, a bench, a patch of shade, a little rhythm of presence. A place where people gather because it’s there, not because there’s a scheduled event.
Camp de mart is surrounded by everything we need to make community life flow naturally.
Just across the street you’ll find Parc de Saavedra, a shaded green space with a lovely children’s play area — perfect for younger siblings and relaxed family hangouts.
On the other side of Camp de Mart, there’s another park with basketball courts and room for teens and young adults to meet, shoot hoops, and connect.
Camp de Mart itself has:
Open green spaces for spontaneous meetups and slow afternoons
Shady trees and plenty of seating
Outdoor exercise equipment
A central location within walking distance of the Old Town and beach
We think Camp de Mart and that part of the town, also called "The Old Town" will become a great epicenter of our Worldschool Village — a natural gathering point, our “village square,” where the community can grow from presence, not pressure.
Whether you're stopping by for a morning coffee, a sunset hangout, or a quick play break with the kids — this is the place to start and return to.
We believe this will become a natural gathering point — but of course, we value freedom. Teens and young adults and adults will create their own rhythm. Another corner of the city may become “the spot,” and that’s part of the magic.
🌊 We also expect the beaches to play a big role — especially Platja del Miracle, just below the old town, and Platja de l’Arrabassada, a short walk further up the coast. Sunsets from Punta del Miracle are stunning, and perfect for evening walks or impromptu gatherings. Our own place is a walk from Camp de Mart, and we’ve found that this range — walking or very short commute — works well for staying connected.
So when you look for a place to stay, think like a villager: close to the rhythm, close to a square, close enough to drift into something unexpected and wonderful.
The circle you see above marks a circle of a approx 10 minutes walking distance of Camp de Mart. Tarragona is a small and lovely city, and most places within this area are easily walkable.
We recommend looking for accommodation in the lower half of the circle — closer to the Old Town, the beach, and the likely heart of village life. That way, you’ll be within easy walking distance of the park, gathering spots, and spontaneous meetups.
We, The Conrads, have booked our Airbnb right on Plaça de la Font.
It’s in the heart of Tarragona’s Old Town, just a 5-minute walk from Parc de Camp de Mart, where we imagine the Village Square will naturally take shape. We know another family who lives just 3 minutes away who have 5 children, 3 of whom are teens. Come join us :)
Plaça de la Font is one of those places where you instantly feel the rhythm of the city. Built on part of the old Roman circus, the square is lined with colorful facades, buzzing cafés, and that relaxed, timeless vibe that makes you want to sit down and stay awhile. A perfect spot for those casual morning coffee meetups.
We chose this area because it puts us close to everything — the park, the sea, and most importantly, each other.
We recommend finding something within walking distance of Plaça de la Font or Parc de Camp de Mart. But if you’re happy with a short commute, local buses and Uber make it easy to stay a bit farther out. It’s all about what suits your rhythm — each to their liking. :)
Not at all — it’s a village, not a program.
That said, most of the families who “move in” for the month have tweens and teens, and our focus is to hold space for that age group — because we’ve seen how much they thrive when they get time together. Adolescence brings new needs: independence, deeper conversations, late-night walks, and freedom to connect in their own way. We want to create a rhythm that supports that.
But like in any real village, there’s a mix. Families, of course, come with younger siblings, older siblings, and even grown-up kids visiting. (We, The Conrads, travel with our three teens — currently aged 13, 17, and 19. We also have a grown-up daughter, aged 26, who visits us on our travels from time to time — and we hope you’ll get the chance to meet her and her wonderful boyfriend. 😊)
If your oldest child is under 10 and you’re primarily looking for a community for younger kids, this might not be the best fit. But then again, some families who’ve already confirmed their stay have kids aged 8 and 9. It’s a village — you can bring your grandma if you like! So if your 8-year-old is a sibling to a teen or just loves tagging along in multi-age groups, there will absolutely be others like them around.
We’ve created the Village to reflect what we and our teens miss — that powerful, natural connection teens crave. But we also welcome the full rhythm of family life. Villages are, after all, for everyone.
Thank you all. The interest has been overwhelming. So many people have said they want to come, but first need to check their Schengen Days, and find accomodations ... So for now, we will only keep you updated on the families who have committed and bought their tickets. As we are fulltime-traveling we might be a little behind in updating this number, but we will do our best to keep you up to date :)
