As we write this, we’re in Budapest, surrounded by an amazing event and feeling the pain of not knowing when this community will meet again.
So we’re making it happen.
The first official Worldschool Village will take place in Tarragona, Spain, in October 2025.
It’s just the right size—big enough to be exciting, small enough to feel safe. Do not hesitate! Just join us.
Our vision is simple: to create community for teens growing up nomadically by inviting like-minded families move into the same neighbourhood, creating a temporary home base and community for young people growing up on the road. One month at the time, new locations every time, staying true to our nomadic hearts.
We are facilitating community through events, walks, wisdom sharing, cultural deepdives. On top Village will include a fancy teenage party to celebrate this amazing life.
Teenagers from all over the world can come together and enjoy real community, yet staying true to their nomadic hearts.
Thanks to the Project World School Family Summits and the Worldschool Pop-Up Hubs, we have enjoyed meeting many likeminded people traveling with teens, in Granada (2019), in Normady (2023), Krakow (2024) and Budapest (2025), many long-term traveling families—especially those with teens—have experienced just how powerful it is when young people get to spend a substantial amount of meaningful time together.
We look forward to meeting you and connecting with you.
Love
We worldschoolers are, by nature, always on the move. Curious. Exploring. We create and maintain friendships easily, and enjoy an international circle—kids and parents alike.
This is a beautiful life.
But still—we need to gather.
City life offers what teens need. City life has education, thrift store hunts, art museums, nightlife, sports, long afternoons in parks, libraries and concerts —and in the case of Worldschool Village the chance to connect with others who live this wild, free, unconventional life.
Just like VR, documentaries, and Google Maps can’t replace actually being there, Zoom and WhatsApp and the like can’t replace real presence.
We want to breathe the same air.
Hear the same concert.
Share the same sunset.
Hold hands. Hug. Laugh. Talk. Learn. Explore—together.
At the same time we are not settling, never stopping. We’re not slowing down. Most of us are nomadic because we simply can not live in any other way. We need the change, we need the travels, we need new and unexplored. At the same time, we need each other, community, togetherness.
And let's face it: this is hard to create when you never stay long in the same place.
Worldschool Village fills that gap. It’s the missing piece that allows this lifestyle one to stay the number one best option.
We begin by living in the same area.
Families stay in walkable neighborhoods—Airbnbs, small rentals, vans, or nearby homes.
Being close makes all the difference. Teens can roam, meet up, and live real life together. The anchor point will be a public park or beach, open and safe and available for everyone to gather on a daily basis.
Morning coffee at local cafes, running into each other on morning runs, shopping at the same markets, sharing the experience and being near each other creates a space for community, spontaneity, friendship and companionship in the best of ways.
A conference will be held the first weekend of the Village. We gather to reflect, talk, and support one another. The conference will cover the most important and hard questions to answer for nomadic families with teenagers. It is a different ballgame from when they were little!
Themes are:
The parent teenager relation - how to navigate independence, love, trust and the future.
Finances: how do we make money on the road, and how do we teach our kids to do the same
Education: What about higher education? How do we get them ready for that, while not letting go of our freedom
Veteran worldschoolers share their stories. Professionals share their wisdom. Newcomers ask questions. We hold space for deep conversations that help us grow as families and a movement.
At the end of the third week, we throw a big, fancy teen party—American prom style, with a European twist.
Dress up, dance, and celebrate.
This is about honoring the young people growing up in this global, freedom-based way. We could call it a graduation party, everyone winning the prize of living an amazing life - together.
4. Welcome newcommers
We were not always experienced travellers, and we were not always so confident. We have benefited a lot from attending events when we were new and want to make the community accesible for anyone who just want to dip a toe. In every event there will be a more central week, where we make more events and make it easier to penetrate the community, join, enjoy and learn.
We have no current plan for the winter village, but we are sure we do not want it to be in a winter location. A core element of the Village is the outdoor hangouts, the sunshine, the location being optimal for spontaneity. So, we are looking at southern Europe, Turkey and North Africa.
At the moment we are working hard to make the first village happen, and do not have the capacity to create the second. Yet. But please do ping us with ideas, and it might just be easy to let a winter-thing happen. Otherwise, you will have to wait for spring in Copenhagen.
Let us know what calls to you. This one will be warm, curious, and unforgettable.
And yes—we are ready to commit to one more. Let scarcity vanish! That is the whole point. We do not want our teens to feel, they are missing out on anything.
In Copenhagen, Denmark, will host the third official World School Village in May 2026.
We’re coming to Northern Europe just as the days get long, the parks come alive, and Denmark is as beautiful as you can imagine.
Why Copenhagen? First and foremost as it is the hosts hometown (hence easy), and second because it is one of the most vibrant and amazing cities in Europe, possibly the world. Trendsetting, with deep historical roots, hip and intellectual, artsy and first moving, open minded and beautiful - Copenhagen has it all. And it is one of the safest cities in the world.
Copenhagen will bring a fresh rhythm: bright nights, laughter in the parks, and community coming alive in a truly Nordic way.
