Join us in Prague where we are creating a Worldschool Village in April - It will be four weeks of community for families traveling with teens.
Something special is happening in Prague just before our April Worldschool Village!
On March 28, 2026, the famous Generali Prague Half Marathon will take over the city— a vibrant atmosphere, and one of the most scenic routes in Europe, crossing Charles Bridge and winding past Prague Castle, the Vltava River, and the historic Old Town.
The Half Marathon is already sold out. We just wanted to mention this event, as there might be more accomodations available if you book for the days after the half marathon, as they estimated that 16.000 people will join the run.
It’s No April Fools’ Joke—Worldschool Village Opens April 1st!
We’re kicking off the Prague Village on April 1st with our first community meetup in Letná Park. Join us for a relaxed afternoon in the heart of Prague—meet new friends, reconnect with old ones, and enjoy the fresh energy of spring.
This is the real deal: Worldschool Village begins, and we can’t wait to share Letná’s green spaces, city views, and good company with you. See you there!
A conference will be held on the second weekend of the Village. We gather to reflect, talk, and support one another. The conference will cover the most important and hard questions to answer for nomadic families with teenagers. It is a different ballgame from when they were little!
Themes are:
The parent teenager relation - how to navigate independence, love, trust and the future.
Finances: how do we make money on the road, and how do we teach our kids to do the same
Education: What about higher education? How do we get them ready for that, while not letting go of our freedom
Veteran worldschoolers share their stories, share their wisdom. Newcomers ask questions. We hold space for deep conversations that help us grow as families and a movement.
We’re excited to share that Dr. Gordon Neufeld—renowned developmental psychologist and author of Hold On to Your Kids—will be giving live lectures in Prague on April 18th and 19th.
This event is actually what sparked the idea for our Prague April Village! Jesper, who is on staff with the Neufeld Institute, will be attending a Neufeld Institute gathering from April 20th to 22nd (not open to the public). And since our family prefers to do life—and adventures—together, we thought: Why not blend work and community? That’s how Prague became our place to gather this spring.
The public event which takes plae on April 18th and 19th is a crowdfunder in support of The Neufeld Institute, Dr. Neufeld’s non-profit dedicated to helping adults understand and nurture the emotional development of children and youth. The Institute’s mission is to equip parents, teachers, and professionals worldwide with the insight and tools to foster healthy relationships, resilience, and growth in young people.
Tickets for the lectures will be sold separately by The Neufeld Institute, and there will be a chance for book signings after each talk. We will send an email once the tickets can be purchased.
We think this is a fantastic opportunity for our community to learn directly from one of the leading voices in child development—and to support an organization that’s truly making a difference for families around the world.
We’re throwing a big, fancy party for all the teens—a celebration with style, music, and plenty of fun.
Dress up, hit the dance floor, and enjoy an evening dedicated to you—the young people growing up in this global, freedom-filled way. This is our chance to honor your journey, mark your growth, and celebrate the friendships and adventures we’ve shared.
Call it a graduation dance, a prom, a milestone, or simply a party—what matters is that everyone gets to shine and enjoy the prize of living an amazing life, together.
Let’s make memories and dance the night away!
A final gathering for all of us—or hopefully just a “see you soon”—as we, your hosts, head to Denmark, where we’ll start preparing for the four week Copenhagen Village (starting May 5th, 2026).
If the weather is awesome, we’ll meet up for one last picnic in the park to share some relaxed time together before we part ways. For those checking out that day, we recommend bringing any leftover food along to the picnic and passing it on to those who are staying longer—a little tradition we love in the Village!
Whether you’re joining us in Copenhagen or setting off on your own adventures, we hope our paths cross again soon. And until then, thanks for being part of this community.
One of the most magical things we’ve experienced during longer stays as worldschoolers is the feeling of living in walking distance of one another. We’ve tried it. It works. There’s a special kind of ease and spontaneity that comes when you can simply stroll out the door, wander toward a shared space — and bump into a familiar face.
That’s what we call the Village Square.
Not a literal square with market stalls and fountains (though we love those too), but a central meeting spot — a park, a bench, a patch of shade, a little rhythm of presence. A place where people gather because it’s there, not because there’s a scheduled event.
Letná Park (Letenské sady) is more than just a green space—it’s a gathering point for locals and travelers alike, perched on a hill with sweeping views of the Vltava River and Prague’s Old Town. Just a 15-minute walk from Charles Bridge and the city’s historic heart, Letná offers the perfect balance between city life and community calm.
The park itself is made for easy living:
There’s a basketball court for teens to shoot hoops and connect
A shaded playground for younger siblings and family hangouts
Expansive lawns and tree-shaded paths for picnics, meetups, or slow afternoons in the sun
Outdoor fitness equipment for anyone wanting to move and play
We think Letna Park will become a great epicenter of our Worldschool Village — a natural gathering point, our “village square,” where the community can grow from presence, not pressure. Everything you need is within walking distance: cafés, Old Town, markets, and that iconic Charles Bridge sunset. Letná is the perfect place to call home—if only for a little while.
We believe this will become a natural gathering point — but of course, we value freedom. Teens and young adults and adults will create their own rhythm. Another corner of the city may become “the spot,” and that’s part of the magic.
So when you look for a place to stay, think like a villager: close to the rhythm, close to the village square, close enough to drift into something unexpected and wonderful. Find the park on Google Maps, and then find an accomodation that serveves yours and your familys need. We, prefer to be no further away than approx 10-15 minutes walking distance of the park.
There is also a big parking place, so you can either drive in, and it seems like it is also possible to park for the night for 35 EUR. We do not know the details of the parking place - some of the reviews seems fine, some are afraid of theft, but you can take a look here.
If you want to stay at a real camp-site... Then there is Praguecamp, which is a longer commute away, but it looks awesome, on an island in the middle of the river.
We recommend looking for accommodation close to the park. But if you are a little further away - do not worry. It is a wonderful city with a really good tram-system, so it is easy to just jump on a tram and go whereever you need in the city.
Our vision
We want to create genuine community for families traveling with teens. We invite like-minded families to move into the same neighborhood, transforming it into a temporary home base—a place for teens growing up on the road to find connection, belonging, and adventure.
For four weeks at a time, in a new city each time, we build these vibrant, supportive pop-up villages—always staying true to our nomadic hearts.
We’ll facilitate connection through shared events, group walks, wisdom circles, and immersive cultural experiences. And of course, Village wouldn’t be complete without a legendary teen party—because this life deserves to be celebrated.
Teens from around the world can come together, make friends, and experience real community—while still living the freedom of the road.
Here is what you get
Community
The Conrads are long term community creating people, and the Worldschool Village is just that: Creation of community - by joining you have instant access to a life with likeminded, for you and your teens. Facilitation of community hosted by a long term nomadic family. We can of course not guarantee your experience to be anything specific, but we CAN guarantee options are there.
Wisdom
There are so many elements of the life of the nomadic teen, that differ. So much to talk about! The veterans will share their experience and research, paving the way for those who are newer to the community. We will talk about parenting teens, about education, finances, the future, love life, relationships. First weekend we dedicate 3 sessions of wisdom, to get the ball rolling. Over the following weeks, conversations will flow, and we will all grow.
Information
Become part of the core community. We will create a WhatsApp community which will go live at the latest one month before the Village starts. And if there is interest for it, we are also considering creating a village-site where we all can share where we stay, who we are and how to connect.
Creating Memories
Weekly Walks, SuitUp Sundays, shared excursions to art museums and historical sites (any tickets are not included in the price, nor is transportation)
Be the light
The option to invite newcommers in or to be the newcomer in the week of more intense shared experiences. We make sure to create community also for those just flirting with the idea of worldschooling.
Party-time!
Invitation to the fancy dance for teens only. It will be a blast.
Not at all — it’s a village, not a program.
That said, most of the families who “move in” for the month have tweens and teens, and our focus is to hold space for that age group — because we’ve seen how much they thrive when they get time together. Adolescence brings new needs: independence, deeper conversations, late-night walks, and freedom to connect in their own way. We want to create a rhythm that supports that.
But like in any real village, there’s a mix. Families, of course, come with younger siblings, older siblings, and even grown-up kids visiting. (We, The Conrads, travel with our three teens — currently aged 13, 17, and 19. We also have a grown-up daughter, aged 26, who visits us on our travels from time to time — and we hope you’ll get the chance to meet her and her wonderful boyfriend. 😊)
If your oldest child is under 10 and you’re primarily looking for a community for younger kids, this might not be the best fit. But then again, some families who’ve already confirmed their stay have kids aged 8 and 9. It’s a village — you can bring your grandma if you like! So if your 8-year-old is a sibling to a teen or just loves tagging along in multi-age groups, there will absolutely be others like them around.
We’ve created the Village to reflect what we and our teens miss — that powerful, natural connection teens crave. But we also welcome the full rhythm of family life. Villages are, after all, for everyone.
That is completely up to you. Everyone is welcome for the amount of time they can come. The ticket price is the same for everyone, as our work is more or less the same, no matter how long you stay.
For some, an entire month is perfect, for some it is too much, and for some it is not enough. You choose how long you want to stay.
Whether you're with us for one week or the entire month, you are part of the village.
You are paying for the community creation, the facilitation of an IRL social life, especially for the teenagers. Included in the prices is
Invitation to a wisdom sharing/conference on the topics relevant to this specific lifestyle
Invitation to weekly hike
Invitation to weekly immersion in culture (A trip to a museum, music or something like this)
Invitation to a fancy dance for teenagers only (13 and up, being 20 years old or more is fine if they want to be part of the group)
Invitation to the WhatsApp community
Tickets to museums/sites are not included, and expenses for the fancy dance are not included.
We cap the fancy dance on the young side; only children age 13 and up are invited. We have good experience with this. Everything else is for everyone. On the other end, we do NOT cap it, if a teen has crossed the line into his or her twenties and still wants to join the dance, he or she is welcome, no problem. Our oldest son will be 20 at the time of this village, and he will for sure also join the dance in the coming Villages.
The world schoolers tend to be very social and open-minded people, including being good at making friends fast. Some of the families who have already booked know each other already, and some are new to the community. It is all good. We can, of course, not guarantee your personal experience, but there is no reason to think you will not have a blast and make a lot of new friends. If you do not know anyone already, you can make more new friends than we can!
